I’ll say it … I love this look! Leave it to a designer like Thakoon to make a sequin mini skort elegant and sophisticated. The way the outfit pulls together is lovely, and not trashy. I like how the top is flowy, and not super tight. The skort has some volume, and is a bit blousy. There’s a reason it’s almost $4000, and it’s actually selling in this economy. It’s gorgeous!
A lot of women are pulled toward the really fitted clothing, thinking it will make them look skinnier. The truth is, it can have the opposite effect. Consider going with an evening look that grazes the body, leaving something to the imagination. Trust me, it can be more intriguing than putting it all out there. AND.. No, you won’t look fat!

The jumpsuit looks more modern than ever with its clean lines and fresh design. It’s the perfect piece to wear to a Holiday party. It’s sexy, in a refined Studio 54 way. When you move, it moves with you, when you dance, it dances with you, and it will accentuate your body beautifully. We’re going to show you three great ways to wear a jumpsuit.

    Look #1

This is a fabulous look to wear to a dinner and dancing party. The gold accents make it festive, and the fabric has exquisite movement. The cut will work well on most body types, but especially on pear shaped girls. The bottom is more fluid, and it accentuates the waist.

  • Look # 2

This look lends itself to a cocktail party at a friends house. It’s relaxed and elegant. You’ll feel comfortable in your outfit and look sophisticated at the same time. Perfect!

  • Look #3

A jumpsuit that’s a little more tailored, which makes it well suited for more formal affairs. You can dress it up with diamonds, or gems. This jumpsuit doesn’t lend itself to pearls, it’s more modern than that, and needs the hard edge of diamonds.

So… we’re not saying you have to emulate her, but Madonna is sporting a new trend, tethering. Chains, chains, chains! For the next few months, rest assured, you will see celebrities and fashionistas alike, wearing tons of chains. To look at Madonna in this picture one might say it’s a little over the top, but nobody does “over the top” as brilliantly as Madonna. While it works beautifully on a pop-star, it’s a bit much for the rest of us. However, don’t write the trend off just yet. You can still pull this look off by simply taking it down a notch. While you don’t have to go as far as Madonna, layer it and layer a lot of it. It won’t translate if you only wear one or two necklaces. If you’re not sure how far to go, check out some of the pre-layered necklaces out there. Dirty Librarian has great necklaces that cater beautifully to this trend. And for a reasonably priced way to incorporate the look, Forever21 has some fantastic choices.

  • feel like a woman with Barbara Bui

One look at Barbara Bui’s shoe designs and I hear Shania Twain in my head singing ” I feel like a woman”. They are powerful, sexy, and fabulously fierce. She gives us a neutral shoe with an edge, by popping it with unexpected color. Even the black suede heel is punched up with a touch of yellow croc. This added detailing is precisely what has us loving this high end Parisian label. You can wear these pumps with anything from denim to a flowy feminine dress - they can be funky or glamorous. There are plenty of ways to play with this look, so have fun with it.
