There are a lot of “hot” colors for Spring, it’s always all about color. This season we’re seeing MINT! It’s a light and airy color that works well with white, beige, navy, and pale pink.

If you’re going to take the plunge, do it gently. Don’t put your cleavage on display, show a hint not the whole thing. See above – she shows the curve of the breast and doesn’t expose pushed up cleavage.

Rings have gone super delicate and sweet. The settings aren’t as bulky, and the diamonds are surrounded by more brilliant diamonds. All of which are meant to showcase the big diamond not overwhelm it.

Figuring out what to wear when you get re-married can be tricky. Do you go all the way with the big dress? Or do you go more sophisticated?

I think Nancy Shevell did the second wedding look beautifully. I like the simple flowers, the hair, the dress … I like it all! Hmmm… ideas, ideas!

Leave the diamond

I like the idea of forgoing the big engagement ring, and opting for a elegant band. I mean, don’t get me wrong … a CARTIER band! I envision the Love collection band in rose gold with diamonds every other. I also LOVE the Trilogy band. It symbolizes Love, Loyalty, and Friendship. ADORE! Heck, maybe propose with one, and use the other on wedding day. Just thinking aloud.

WHY???

I’m speechless! Each year there is another designer who comes out with a horrifying high-heel sneaker, and I need to know why????
Is there a committee that decides who’s year it is, and then appoints that designer to design the most ridiculous sneaker?

POW

I wasn’t sure I would say this BUT… I think the neon of today is more sophisticated than it was in the 80′s. We’ve graduated a bit from rubber bracelets and leg warmers. Don’t get me wrong, if you want to go the full on NEON mania – you can find just about anything you want. However, you can also make a splash in a sophisticated way.

The Gold Hoop

This is a must-have in a girl’s wardrobe. It became apparent this weekend when I realized I don’t have a nice hoop earring. Ippolita makes a pair in the perfect size. My favorite are the rose gold ones. Rose gold is so much more interesting to me theses days.

The Biker Boot

Also known as the shit-kickers … but cooler. I have a pair in brown that I wear literally to death, and I would love a pair in black as well. I’m throwing these on with skinny jeans, or leggings. They are my version of a cowboy boot – “a go to” – a must have. Zara makes a really cool yet affordable pair.

Still Going Strong

My 11 year old son is desperate to have nerd glasses! He even wants to put the tape in the middle, to make it look even MORE nerdy.
I love it!
The best part about it … is he actually is kind of a nerd. Actually, he may be more of a geek. He’s a computer kid, and I fear he will soon be able to hack his way into just about anywhere.

The point is, nerd glasses are a trend that has staying power.

Misunderstood

For a long time, I feel like lace has gotten a bad rap. It went from being a delicate, luxurious fabric – to cheap stretch lace in the 80′s. Yes, I think we can blame the 80′s ( and maybe Madonna) for ruining the reputation of lace!

Well, lovely lace is making a comeback. It’s a strong fabric for Fall and the Holidays. If done well, it can look so sophisticated and feminine. My favorite is black lace on a nude background. I like how the nude showcases the detail of the lace.

Lace in Color

Some designers are trying to incorporate color into lace. That’s fine, as long as the quality of the lace looks refined. If done poorly, it can look super cheap.

Who Wears Short Shorts…

Leather is HOT this season! I like leather in small doses, but I’m not an all over leather girl. I think these shorts could look fabulous on a young girl with insane legs, BUT nobody over 40 PLEASE!!!!
