fringe-tastic Fall

There is something so sexy about fringe and how it dances with every move you make. It goes to the heart of American style, along with denim and a classic white tee. The fringe of this season has graduated to the next level. High end designers like Gucci, Prada, and Thomas Wylde have used the best materials and design to create “über” fringe fashion. Retail shops like Asos, Topshop, and dELiA’s have fabulous fringe styles at more affordable prices. You don’t have to be completely country, or even a little cowboy to pull of the fringe of Fall 2008. Don’t go overboard; choose one item to showcase. A bag is a great way to pop in some fringe. Throw it over your shoulder and you immediately look current. Or pull on a pair of black boots over your jeans, and you’re look is a bit more modern and urban. To pull it off, you’ve got to love the piece you buy. That way, your love will inevitably enhance your creativity with the item. Enjoy!

  • Fall’s passion for purple

We usually associate Fall with colors like brown, red, green, and deep yellow. This year we’re seeing shades of purple appear in Fall collections across the board. A color that was once associated with royalty, wealth, and power is now to be worn by woman everywhere. It’s commonly thought that people who embrace the color purple are creative, eccentric, independent, and mysterious. This intriguing color brings sophistication to our usual measure of fall colors. It works beautifully with grays, blacks, and denim. It’s a quick way to update your wardrobe for the season, without having to spend a fortune. Try to work at least one piece of purple into your story this season, even if it’s only a scarf. Be a bit mysterious, and let out your inner royal. Let the majestic color work magic on you!

Every spring we are reminded just how versatile and classic a trench coat can be. It’s probably one of the best wardrobe investments you will ever make, because it will never go out of fashion. If you currently have one from years past, you can easily update it by shortening it to the knee or slightly above.  If you happen to be in the market for a trench, there are two ways to go: 1. You could go for a trench in a bold color, which is very au courant. Or, 2. You can choose a classic black or tan trench. The latter may be the smarter buy if you don’t have a trench. However, if you already have a classic then you may want to consider punching your wardrobe up a little with a bold color. Or you can choose one with a modern take on the classic design like the Gryphon trench pictured above. It’s no loner about the rain, this coat goes anywhere, anytime, and with anything. It looks sassy and sophisticated with jeans and a tee. It also looks sexy and mysterious belted over a skirt or dress.  Either way, a trench is smart looking and makes any look polished and pulled together. It’s a must; ponder the purchase no more!
