sightseeing style
tourist chic
The travel season is upon us. The kids will be getting out of school, and for some that means going to a foreign land. Part of traveling is being a tourist. That used to be a dirty word – Tourist! People, Americans anyway, didn’t want to be labeled a tourist. That implied bad taste and bad style. YIKES!
Well, now it’s super chic to be a tourist. I mean, if you can avoid bringing the fanny pack … please do. Otherwise, have at it. Bring the camera, pose for pictures, see everything, be silly, eat like pig, and enjoy!
what to wear
Yes, you can be stylish and comfortable at the same time. Think it through.
To bring:
- a flat pair of sandals
- a pair if shorts that are on trend
- a tank that works with shorts in the day, and slacks at night
- fake jewelry … make a statement
- a light weight tote
- new shades – updated frame
Not to bring:
- running sneakers – unless you’re going to wear them to literally run
- shorts from last season that grab at your crotch, b/c they no longer fit
- a really expensive designer bag – leave obvious labels at home
- a lot of makeup
- a bad attitude
