why are dressing rooms hot as hell?

dressing rooms

Let’s face it, a lot of girls like to shop. Some shopping trips are just informational, they are browsing expeditions with an open mind. Then, there are necessary shopping trips.

necessary shopping

  • We are on a mission to buy something we “need”
  • These trips are like work
  • We’re focused
  • Driven to find just the right pieces
  • We’re putting things together in our minds
  • making decisions
  • We’re in and out of the dressing room a million times

the dressing room

In general, the dressing room is not our favorite place. Mirrors, florescent lighting, and the brutal realization of how we look at EVERY angle.

Truth: It’s brutal!
Now, on top of all that.. it’s 100 degrees. You start to sweat after trying on only a couple of things, and now the skinny jeans you were hoping to buy can’t get past your knees.

Major bummer, and ego buster!

I don’t know about you, but I would prefer to be freezing trying clothing on.

  • Freezing keeps me from swelling like a pig.
  • Freezing keeps me thinking straight.
  • Freezing gets my butt into the skinny jeans!

In that environment, I’m buying.

Good point!! This is the biggest problem in my local H&M. I've actually just put the whole lot back and walked out before– it just wasn't worth the sweltering. I'm already moving around a lot if I'm trying things on (focused, efficient). Could it kill them to crank the AC? Couldn't they just switch places with restaurants (where I'm sitting the whole time and wouldn't mind a little heat)?

Exactly! I have walked out as well. I can't tolerate a hot dressing room. I have no patience for it! They need to be in tune with the whole experience.. esp. in this economy. The entire experience should be a pleasure.
