Superbowl sunday on a yacht in Miami – what to wear

A friend of mine is spending Superbowl weekend on a yacht in Miami … lucky girl! She expressed having trouble figuring out what look to go for. She doesn’t want to look over-dressed. She wants to look sophisticated, and at ease in the environment.

Look 1 – soft strucutre

The best way to soften a look, is with the fabrics you choose. A beautiful silk tee, for example, is quite elegant without being overdone. Throw a cool boyfriend blazer over that for structure. Incase it’s cold out there on that yacht, bring a cashmere shawl. Cashmere has the power to out any outfit at ease. It’s decadent, especially if it looks like a beautiful blanket falling from your shoulders. I would pair it all with dark denim, and a FANTASTIC pair of shoes.

Look 2 – casually cultivated

This look is completely at ease, and entirely confident. Stripes, and nautical style is ‘Hot’ right now. This outfit has a whisper of the trend without looking like you’re trying too hard. I think the outfit calls for a wide leg pant. It’s feels like the right balance with the fitted tee. The shoes are like Jack Rogers on steroids. Classic with sex appeal! Gold jewelry will shine like the hardware on a beautifully crafted boat.
