Calypso St. Barth – Summer wardrobe essentials

I haven’t lived through a Texas Summer yet, but I’ve heard the horror stories. So, I’m already starting to think about my Summer wardrobe. I’m looking for pieces that are light and airy. I don’t want anything too binding, or sticky. I want my body to be able to breathe as much as possible.

Calypso calling

When I first saw that Calypso had a store here in Dallas, I didn’t think it made sense. As I walked through the store, I realized it makes complete sense. Of course they have a store in Dallas! It gets just as hot here, if not hotter, as it does in the Caribbean.

what I found

I found myself gravitating toward the dresses, tops, and tees. The colors are refreshing, and the fabrics are freeing. Silk Dupioni is one fabric used a lot in the collection. It’s hardly as fragile as the silk we’re used to. It feels like cotton, but with a slight sheen, and added texture.

I imagine I will want to wear the two dresses I bought all Summer long. Hmm… I probably should have grabbed one more, but I’m not made of money -after-all!

Calypso IS perfect for a Texas summer! The dresses are a great weight, and the colors are so bright and cheery! We have one in Austin, too, but the staff isn't very helpful, alas. I so miss HPV and Northpark.

Love the redesign! It's very user-friendly and clear. I am especially glad you kept the updated comments on the right – I like to know if I am missing a good fashion discussion!

LOVE the new site! Fantastic. Coverage of the St. Barths store makes me want to holiday there. Happy New Year!
