For lot of us, buying vintage can be a little scary. It hasn’t been a very easy area to navigate. Where do we go to find ‘good’ vintage? How do we know if the vintage shop is reputable? Who do we trust?
Well, now major stores are starting to carry vintage pieces. Places like ShopBop, Chickdowntown, and Avelle are just a few online stores that carry vintage. It’s a smart move on the part of these big shops, because they already have an established retail store. So, we’re more likely to trust their vintage pieces. The vintage market is going to continue to grow, people seem to be yearning for the antiquity you get with vintage. Check it out, you may find exactly what you’ve been looking for.

    Vintage is definitely coming mainstream – helped a lot by the success of Mad Men. My fear when I buy vintage is it will just look like old clothes – ugh! love that mainstream stores are carrying vintage. Another good vintage selection is edressme.com (not an impressive site overall, but the vintage section is good).

    I love vintage but I can't imagine buying it online – I am too tall and too disproportionate (ex: bubble butt) to chance it. Thrift shops, estate sales, vintage stores and other people's closets are some of my fave sources!

    That said, the three stores you named are all fabulous and all shops I love. I would be much more likely to trust their assessment of accurate sizes AND they are more likely to have a smooth return process.
