They’re so in … they’re out!

Remember the first time you saw Carrie Bradshaw in those funky black shoes? They were cutting edge, risky, exactly what we expect from Carrie. Girls around the world left that movie desperately wanting a pair just like them. The early adapters got them the next day. Some took longer, and waited to see if the fad caught on. Now… they’re everywhere. That’s usually the signal for the ‘early adapters’ to find the next “big” thing.

Can you remember the first time you heard about Twitter? Did you run home to join the conversation? Or were you one of those that balked at the idea of twitter. What is this twitter? Who has the time? Who cares? Now… everyone’s on twitter. The same people who bashed it, are now singing it’s praises. The early adapters have grown bored, it’s no longer considered “cutting edge”. Which means, there will be some “new” social media thing emerging shortly.

It makes me wonder, are you an early adapter? Or do you like to wait to see how things evolve? Do you like to be part of the crowd? Or do you like to be the trail blazer?

In the words of a true trail blazer:
Samantha: “Why did we stop drinking these?” (cosmos)
Carrie: “Because everybody else started..”

Buy it early and get the most run out of it;) I remember getting pointed-toe Ferragamos 10 years ago and everyone staring at my feet! (but I got good years out of those shoes so worth the $$). Did the same when the Louboutin platforms came out – much better than spending same amount on cheap stuff trying to catch up.
