The Crystal Ball Fashion Show

The Crystal Charity Fashion Show is one of the most anticipated events for the “who’s who” in the Dallas social scene. Since I’m a newbie to the Dallas scene, my sister (Kathy Gudmundsson) gladly let me ride her coat tails to the event. We were guests of her dear friend Tucker Enthoven, who is a member of the Crystal Ball Charity Committee.

This year, Michael Kors was chosen to present his beautiful collection. While the spectacle of the show doesn’t quite compare to the runways of New York Fashion Week, I still got a rush when he sent his “Clydesdales” down the runway. There’s something so exhilarating about a fashion show. The music, the beautiful women, the elite crowd, and of course the clothing.

The Ladies

To some the event may seem like a frivolous social affair, but the Crystal Charity Ball organization is no joke. A serious amount of money is raised each year, and it all goes to children’s charities. For that, I take my hat off to all the hard working women who pull it all together. “Since 1952, the sole purpose of The Crystal Charity Ball has been to aid, support and make contributions to children’s charities in Dallas County …members of The Crystal Charity Ball Committee have raised more than $88 million for more than 95 worthy beneficiaries over the past 57 years.” What can you say other than, job well done.

Note to self: Buy a new camera before I get thrown out of blogosphere for bad photos!

You are obviously settling in well! I especially love your snakeskin bag and Tucker's chunky chain link necklace!

OHHH.. the bag is my mom's. It's a Kara Ross. She let me borrow it for a few months – lucky moi! Tucker's necklace is Michael Kors, and it is fab! Tell me when you're in Dallas again.
