daddy’s little girl
Rarely am I intrigued by what I see someone wearing in an airport. Usually, I’m overrun by women wearing juicy sweatsuits – bored to tears!
Well, I was sitting in the Dallas Fort Worth Airport ‘people watching’ when a young girl glided past me. At first, I noticed her jeans. They were an acid wash/ tye dye mix. Normally, I would dismiss such a poor choice, but it was the way she wore them that kept my attention. The jeans were paired with a loose tank, fluid vest, Chanel necklace, gladiator sandals, and a cool black tote. Her outfit, and the way she carried herself created a character. She’s a bit a bad girl. Actually, she’s more dangerous than that… she’s a bad girl with money. You know, the girl who’s Daddy works too much and doesn’t have enough time for her. He merely throws her a black card, and thinks he’s done his part. She’s on her own most of the time, and she’s become very independent. She’s not likely to open up to many people, she expects they see dollar signs in her eyes. So, she’s a little rough around the edges hoping that may scare some off.
She was sitting in first class when I got on the plane. Our eyes met as I passed her. She had huge blue eyes that seemed weighted with sadness. I suddenly saw innocence, and youth in her stare. I felt badly for her. I wanted to wrap my arms around her, and shelter her. People think money makes everything better, but I bet she would give it all up to spend time with her dad everyday.
