celebrity or supermodel covers?

all you have to do is look at april's harpers bazaar to know that models are much better at it than celebs. the problem? model covers (unless it's gisele or kate moss) don't sell. another problem? all we see is recycled faces. how many times can one listen to nicole kidman, gwyneth paltrow or jennifer aniston?

What do you mean by “at it”? Posing for a photoshoot? Well, of course – it's their job!

I don't have a preference, actually. I care more that the people on the cover are not:
1. stick thin
2. airbrushed within an inch of their lives
3. someone who isn't interesting or inspiring in any way

And alas, most magazines fail on at least 2 out of 3 in every single issue

I'm am actually really tired of seeing the same celebs on the covers. If they want to stick with the celeb thing – they should go for new upcoming types – to mix it up.

I am as sick of Gisele and Kate Moss as I am of Gwyneth, Jennifer A, etc. BORING! I prefer models on the cover, but I saw Gisele on the cover of Harper's Bazaar this month and yawned.

I, too, would love some diversity. And if one must airbrush, please not so much that we barely recognize the celeb?!

I agree! What happen to discovering fresh faces? I wish I could be airbrushed on a daily basis – lol

Nowadays, I don't think there's too much of a difference between supermodels & celebrities. If anything, celebrities ARE the new supermodels. It's not like the way it was back in the 90's where there were only 5-6 supermodels & no one else stood a chance. Basically, everyone is gorgeous now & getting their time to shine!

I do get tired of seeing the same old faces & it would be nice to mix it up a little.

There are some celebs that are good at modeling, but just because it's a model's job doesn't mean they are good at it. i've seen plenty of model covers that are bad…

i agree with you jean, there are so many fabulous actresses out there right now…magazines should really mix it up. i really think it's a case of damned if you do, damned it you don't…if they use a model that isn't well known, everyone says, “who is this?” and if they use kate moss, gisele, etc. people say “her again?”
