Dressing a petite frame is all about proportion.
TIPS:
1. Elongate: Your best pant should be narrow through the leg and flare slightly into a boot cut. It will make your legs look long and lean.
a) Avoid Capri pants! They will make your legs look short and stumpy.

      When I was a wardrobe consultant I had so much difficulty separting petite women from their capris – THANK YOU for reinforcing. Why do so many petite women love capris and boxy jackets?!! One of the world's great mysteries.

      I think they gravitate toward capris b/c they don't have to deal with length – they won't have to get them altered etc. Thanks!

      I couldn't agree more about petites and capris, however, I recently went shopping for pants with my sister, who is petite, and even IN the petites section we found MOSTLY CAPRI pants! What is up with that?
      Also, about defining the waist, this might not be the right move if, like my sister, you are thicker in the middle. She has thin legs and hips, but no waist to speak of, so she usually goes for swing jackets and fitted pants and pencil skirts with pointy toe heels. She can also get away with mini shift dresses better than us pear shapes.

      Good point – Apple shapes have a hard time defining their waist. She's smart to play up her legs then. I should probably do a post on body shapes Pears – apples etc. Thanks

      Great information, I never wore capri pants because they would hit me at the largest part of my leg which draws attention there. I like the tips to make the silhouette appear taller.
