the wooden wedge

Leave a response ->

The wooden wedge is the shoe to have for spring 2009! Designers across the board have a wooden wedge in their collection. It’s going to take the place of the gladiator high heel bootie. Luckily, they’ll be a bit easier to walk in as well. The wedge platform will feel more stable, almost like you’re walking on blocks. You’ll also get a ton of height without the pain of a monster heel. They look best with a flare leg, or a boot-cut. Although, I’m sure their will be a ton of more daring girls wearing them with their skinnies. Well… do you love it or hate it?

      Love the Frye wedge! I have an odd prejudice that I do not like the shoe and the heel to contrast – I like it to look all of a piece. I guess I don't want the eye to be drawn to, of all things, the light heel on my dark shoe, or vice versa. Thoughts?!

      I think with the Frye shoe – it will look great. I think you should avoid a shoe that looks too much like a block. The Frye have nice definition to the heel – great choice!

      I really like wooden wedges in spring and summer, especially with denim trousers and bohemian dresses!
